Gov’t announces closure of all schools over the ongoing teachers’ strike

Public schools are set to close starting Monday, because of the weight heaped by the three-week teachers' strike and absence of capitation finances that have rendered administration of schools difficult
The decision applies to Standard 1 to 7 pupils and Form 1 to 3 with Standard 8 and Form Four students being asked to stay in school.
The decision comes a day after the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) undermined to push for the impeachment of President Uhuru Kenyatta for evidently resisting a court order recompensing teachers a pay increase.
